The following is a snippet from the release notes describing new
support, enhanced support and bug fixes present in this release:

2.2-10 05/06/2003

- New Support

ATI RADEON IGP 320M/330M/340M/345M chipset support (LX)
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 128MB laptop chipsets.
  ATI Radeon 9100 (DX)
  Appian Typhoon (MX)
  Compaq Presario 2100 (LX)
  Compaq Presario 2500 (LX)
  Sager 5667 (LX)
  Sager 8887 (LX)
  Arcom Olympus SBC (DX)

Added support for 24+8bpp overlay planes on Intel i830 chips.

- General

  - Deal with very large pixmaps differently to improve performance.

  - Corrected some RENDER problems seen with sub-pixel anti-aliasing,
and other recent changes made to the extension, and seen on the
    newer linux distributions.

  - Corrected another VT initialization issue that could be seen on
    some Mandrake configurations.

  - added new Sony ddm2801c monitor entry

  - corrected problem where /usr/lib/libGL files would be removed when
non 3D servers were uninstalled (Bronze, Silver).

- OpenGL

  - OpenGL libs updated to correct problem whereby glXUseXFont() would
improperly free the font after generating the call lists.

  - On Solaris, libGL is now installed as libGL.so.1 rather than
    libGL.so.1.3.

- Intel

  - There is now a work around for a problem related to using the
video overlay at high resolutions and refresh rates. The video
overlay will be disabled if the i830/i845 does not have enough
bandwidth to display the video overlay correctly.

Technically, they are disabled when the pixel clock is greater
than 160 MHz, which requires a special clock doubling mode to be
used with the CRTC that prevents the overlays from functioning
    correctly.

- Panasonic Toughbook CF-28

  - A potential locking problem when starting Accelerated-X from the
    console on Solaris was solved.

  - Some early 2.4 Linux kernels have a bug that may cause the PS/2
port to fail on this laptop. If the mouse stops working
    intermittently, please update your kernel.

  - a problem that would cause the touchscreen to work, but not the
touchpad under Solaris was fixed. Touchscreen support is only
available in the CX version of the Toughbook driver.

- 3DLabs Wildcat

  - Changed the way memory was initialized to fix problems seen with
    WC6210 cards with different memory.

  - Fixed an OpenGL display list problem.

- 3DLabs GVX1

  - worked around HW bug on GVX1 so that stereo would work properly with
    'O' menus at higher resolutions.

- ATI

  - Corrected tuner problem seen with some All In Wonder Radeon cards

  - IGP support. Although the XQA's provided specify 16, 32, or 64MB
of framebuffer memory, in reality the amount of memory used for
the framebuffer is determined by the BIOS settings, and can range
from 1-128MB. In other words, you can pick any of them regardless
of how much memeory you have configured in the BIOS, and the
server will always use the BIOS value.

- S3 Savage

  - Fixed an initialization problem with some ProSavage chipsets.

- Matrox

  - corrected noise problem seen when using G200 based boards at high
    resolutions (1600x1200).

Thank you for choosing Accelerated X!
