The following is a snippet from the release notes describing new support, enhanced support and bug fixes present in this release.

2.2-20 [Solaris packages re-release]

- On this date (2/10/2005), some problems were discovered with the
Solaris packages when used with the 'official' Solaris 10 GA
release, which occurred after these packages were originally built
  and released last week:

  - xsvc 3.0-54 corrects a kernel panic issue on Solaris 10-GA due to
header file differences between S10-b72 and the official GA
    release.

  - change the use of 'Xserver' script used in new dt/config/Xservers
config file to just use 'X', so there is a hope of using our
    server with dtlogin.

See the note at the bottom regarding Solaris 10.

2.2-20 (all other packages except Matrox Parhelia)

- correct bug where server could hang if an attached fontserver
  disappeared.

- correct problem whereby a fontpath element could be rejected due to
a mis-named fontfile (cursor.pcf.gz.artwiz and others). These files
are ignored and a message to this effect is written to X0messages
  for each one encountered.

- correct problem where all available PCI busses were not scanned when
  looking for video chips.

- correct problem in Xaccel's malloc for regcomp() in glibc-2.3.4
systems that expect malloc(0) to return a useful pointer. This
caused module loading to fail with various undefined symbols. Seen
on RH FC3 and updated Slackware 10 systems.

- corrected a memory allocation race in XKB that could cause a variety
of problems with newer glibc's. Most noticable on RH fedora core 3
  systems.

- Try to pacify GNOME 'gswitchit' keyboard module (the annoying
and bogus warning about 'possible internal Xserver problem').

- fixed problem that caused wide, stippled lines to be drawn
incorrectly at certain orientations on non-TCL capable hardware.

- fix to libXDA to prevent uneccessary opens and closes on /dev/xsvc.

- corrected problem where mouse movements could cause the server to
occasionally idle the graphics engine uneccessarily.

- added French LK461 keyboard definition.

- corrected problem where dashed lines could be drawn improperly.

- corrected xinerama problem on Solaris 10 systems with gnome.

- corrected OpenGL performance problem on Solaris 9 systems.

- fixed bug in synaptics driver that prevented window dragging and
resizing from working when using EVDEV on linux 2.6 kernels.

- corrected a problem with Matrox interrupt handling on linux 2.6
kernels. This might also affect 3Dlabs Wildcat 5 and 6.

- corrected problem that could cause issues with digital flatpanels on
  G450/550.

- corrected a problem that could cause intel chipsets to hang on
subsequent invokations of the Xserver after the first one.

- elo touchscreen driver could hang if the device was broken, or
  unavailable.

- fixed bug in multihead touchscreen scenarios that could cause input
events to get lost during a core pointer screen switch.

- installer updates:

   - account properly in Xservers file for Solaris 10 systems.
   - save off /usr/X11/bin/X as well on S10 systems.
   - under Linux, account for TLS versions of GL/GLU

NOTE: If you installed a version of 2.2-20 prior to this release
announcement on Solaris 10 systems, please download the latest
Solaris Summit tarballs. This tarball includes a new xsvc (3.0-54)
and some postinstall fixes required for the official Solaris 10
(GA) release. This release is not compatible with Solaris 10 beta
(EA) releases. Only the official S10 release (GA) is supported.

Thank you for choosing Accelerated X!
