=======================

Xi Graphics is pleased to announce the release of Version 2.4-2 of the
Accelerated X Summit Servers for Intel i915 and Panasonic CF-18 (Intel
i915 version).

These servers are also suitable for use on desktop systems.

Although not specifically tested, these packages should work on all
i9X5 chips (such as the i945).

The new servers can be found at:

     Linux LX
     ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/linux/laptop/

     Solaris LX
     ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/solaris/laptop/

Please note that these servers, for now, are packaged in a
seperate tarball, rather than the standard version 2.2 LX
     tarballs:

     Summit_LX-Silver-Intel-i915-2.4-2-LINUX.i386.tar
     Summit_LX-Platnum-Intel-i915-2.4-2-LINUX.i386.tar

     Summit_LX-Silver-Intel-i915-2.4-2-Solaris.i386.tar
     Summit_LX-Platinum-Intel-i915-2.4-2-Solaris.i386.tar

The following is a snippet from the release notes describing new
support, enhanced support and bug fixes present in this release.

2.4-2 (Initial Intel i915 packages only)

- new 'official' Intel i915 support. Please see the chipset specific
section on the i915 above regarding some important information.

  - corrected a video overlay problem that could cause sporadic
corruption of the video image, or corruption of pixmap memory.

- correct a deadlock that could occur during 3D rendering.

  - hardware accelerated screen rotation is supported (but not enabled
in the standard LX product). Contact sales@xxxxxxx for
    information on this.

- Several issues related to texture allocation were resolved.

- Panasonic CF-18 Toughbook (using the i915 chip) is now also
supported (with a seperate package). Contact sales@xxxxxxx for
  information.

Thank you for choosing Accelerated X!
