Xi Graphics is pleased to announce a BETA release of an amd64/x86_64 Solaris 10 package for various Matrox cards.

The BETA server can be found at:

     Solaris WX
     ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/BETA/solaris/

files:

     README.Solaris.x86_64
     xsvc-4.0-2.x86_64.pkg.gz
     Summit_WX-Silver-Matrox-BETA64-2.4-b1.x86_64.pkg.gz

The following is a snippet from the README.Solaris.x86_64 file:

Beta Release
3/9/2006

        xsvc-4.0-2.x86_64.pkg.gz
        Summit_WX-Silver-Matrox-BETA64-2.4-b1.x86_64.pkg.gz

This package contains beta AMD64/x86_64 support for various
Matrox cards for use with Solaris 10 running on Intel EM64T or
AMD Opteron/Athlon64 systems running in 64bit mode.

Supported cards include:

        Matrox Millennium G450
        Matrox Millennium G550
        Matrox Millennium P650
        Matrox Millennium P750
        Matrox Parhelia 128/256
        Matrox Parhelia HR256
        Matrox Parhelia Precision SGT
        Matrox Parhelia QID
        Matrox Parhelia QID Pro

xsvc version 4.0-2 or better is required to use this server,
and is included in the same directory that this package is
located in. Do not use xsvc 3.x - it will not work with 64
        bit kernels, or this package.

It is assumed that you have some experience with installing
and configuring Accelerated-X. If not, please see the
following files for information on the general process of
        installing and configuring Accelerated-X.

        ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/README.xsvc
        ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/SummitManual.pdf
        ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/README.Summit

Basically:

        - disable any graphical login managers (/usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -d)
        - install the xsvc package, and reboot (with graphical logins
          still disabled).
        - Install the Summit package
        - run Xsetup and configure your card, monitor, mouse and
          keyboard
        - test the server 'Xaccel'. Use CTL-ALT-BS to exit.
        - re-enable graphical logins (/usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -e)

A demo license is supplied which will cause the server to
        terminate after about 25 minutes.

If you need more time to evaluate the server, please contact
sales@xxxxxxx and request an Evaluation license. If you wish
to purchase a license, please go to:

Please report any feedback on this driver (good or bad) to
support@xxxxxxxx If you are reporting a problem, please
        include Xsupport output
        (/usr/openwin/lib/AcceleratedX/bin/Xsupport).

Note: OpenGL is not yet supported. Linux is also not yet
supported. This package only works on Solaris 10 GA and GA
        U1.

Thank you for choosing Accelerated X!
