=======================

Xi Graphics is pleased to announce the initial release of our new
Single Logical Screen (SLS) HX servers.

The Accelerated-X SLS drivers are a new development in the
Accelerated-X product line that are designed for X11 compliant
rendering in Single Logical Screen configurations. The SLS drivers
are compatible with a number of multihead graphics cards, and support
for more cards is being added.

The Accelerated-X SLS drivers allow a single desktop to be used across
many graphics adapters in a single system. This feature is sometimes
called 'Xinerama'. SLS is different from the standard X-server method
of assigning a single 'screen' or desktop per graphics chip or monitor
output.

Although some of our current products support an X screen that spans
multiple monitors, that support was limited to hardware configurations
in which a single framebuffer and graphics engine was driving multiple
outputs, such as the Matrox G400 and ATI Radeon based cards.

The Accelerated-X SLS driver improves upon existing SLS
implementations by offering full X11 acceleration across all graphics
chips and framebuffers that comprise the SLS screen. Hardware
acceleration for a number X11 extensions is supported. The drivers
can also be ported to a number of UNIX platforms.

SLS modes can be easily configured using the graphical Xsetup utility.
A user selects the number of monitors attached to the system by
entering the rectangular dimensions of the 'screen grid' in Xsetup.
For example, to configure a horizontal line of 4 monitors, a user
would configure a 4x1 screen grid.

With this release, support is provided on Linux and Solaris systems
running on Intel x86 or AMD64 processors.

Only 2D (Silver) is currently supported.

The Matrox packages support:

     Matrox G400
     Matrox G450
     Matrox G450MMS
     Matrox G550

The ATI R200 packages support

     Appian Hurricane, Rushmore, Typhoon
     Colorgraphic Xentera GT2, GT4, GT8
Generic Radeon R200 support (this includes ATI VE, 7000, 7500,
      8500, 9000, 9100 and 9250)
