=======================

Xi Graphics is pleased to announce the release of Version 2.4-9 of Accelerated X Summit for Matrox Parhelia and Intel 9XX cards.

The new servers can be found at:

     Linux WX
     ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/linux/workstation/

     Linux LX (i9XX)
     ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/linux/laptop/

     Solaris WX
     ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/solaris/workstation/

     Solaris LX (i9XX)
     ftp://ftp.xig.com/pub/Summit/solaris/laptop/

The following is the release notes for these packages:

- New Support:

  - Matrox RG 200DL (Extio) (ATC - from Matrox only)
  - Matrox RG 400SL (Extio) (ATC - from Matrox only)
  - Matrox APVe
  - Matrox LP QID PCIe
  - Intel 945

- Unified the 32 bit and 64 bit servers. This version will work
  on i386, x86_64 (linux/solaris), and sparcv9 (solaris)
architectures (with the appropriate xsvc package of course).

- Now requires xsvc 4.x. Previous versions of xsvc (3.x) will not work
with these servers. A seperate package is provided for i386 and
  x86_64 architectures.

For Solaris, the x86_64 xsvc package will work in both 32bit and
64bit modes, and only supports Solaris 10. The 32bit xsvc packages
will work on Solaris 8-10 for 32b kernels.

- reworked the mode setting and configuration of the output channels
in the Parhelia driver significantly. Corrected several EDID
  probing and text restore issues.

- corrected a problem with line drawing that could cause some
corruption to appear in Gnome/KDE window decorations on Parhelia
  hardware.

- corrected problem with German and French keyboards under Solaris 10
  U1.

- corrected a problem with some newer Microsoft Intelli-mice.

- Corrected a problem with Intel 9XX chipsets on Solaris that could
result in a panic when xsvc is installed, or when the X server
  exits.

- for Linux installations, a new shell script 'XInstall' is now
provided in the $XACCELHOME/bin/ directory. This script should help
with installation of Summit on systems that do not support RPM
packages. In addition, this script can be run at any time to
re-check and 'fix' OpenGL, Xda, and XME library links, and
re-install the various 'X' symlinks when an OS 'updater' has trashed
  them.

- Note, 64b OpenGL is not yet supported, but will be eventually. When
it's available, it will be added to the Platinum packages.

Thank you for choosing Accelerated X!
