A number of laptop manufacturers - Dell, Compaq, HP, and Gateway for starters - use this chip in their corrent product lines. The chip is a strong performer, even though it uses system RAM memory (up to 128 MB) for video memory. The Summit driver is configured for 32MB by default.

To try one of the four Summit LX Series demos - Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum, on a box with the embedded chip, select the "Intel i830 generic" driver during install. The demo has a 25 minute timer that stops the X server, but it can be restarted any number of times.

License Keys (one required per computer) can be purchased on-line and e-mailed directly to you. The Key, when installed in the demo, turns off the timer, making the product permanent.
