Accelerated-X Summit Feature Highlight

Laptop DualView™

Laptop DualView - An Accelerated-X Summit Exclusive
The ability to use an external monitor as an extension of the notebook desktop area is one of the more powerful features in the Summit Laptop (LX) series. DualView is available in the Silver and Platinum Editions.

Other notebook graphics drivers may allow the use of an external monitor, but usually it is limited to displaying the same image that is available on the internal LCD panel. DualView allows you the flexibility of using the external monitor in a number of ways.

The Basic Case
This simple case allows the use of an external monitor as the laptop display instead of the LCD panel, or may allow the image on the panel to be displayed on the monitor at the same time. DualView also allows this basic capability, but also provides "Hot Key" switching from panel to monitor to both to panel in a circular pattern.

Single Logical Screen - Side-by-side
DualView allows the monitor to be used as a horizontal extension of the notebook's desktop real estate. This treats the combination as one single display area. Images can be dragged between the two display sections - between the panel and monitor. This capability is sometimes incorrectly called "dual head."

Single Logical Screen - Stacked
DualView allows the monitor to be used as a vertical extension of the notebook's desktop real estate. This treats the combination as one tall single display area. Images can be dragged between the two display sections - between the panel and monitor. This capability is also sometimes incorrectly called "dual head."

Zoom View
When DualView is configured in Zoom Mode, a selected piece of the image on one display can be shown enlarged on the other display.   An area to be enlarged is selected by the cursor on the high resolution display. The selection is displayed on the display set to a low resolution. The difference in resolutions between the two displays provides the magnification.

Drag Video Window
If the laptop installation includes incoming video, a Video Window can be displayed on either display and dragged across the boundary when the two displays are configured in the Single Logical Screen Mode.
